Jay Leno and Mavis Leno’s love story began at a comedy club. After making a performance at the legendary Comedy Store in the 1970s, the former host of the Tonight Show fell in love with his future wife. Even though Jay stated that he “wasn’t very good at dating,” Mavis remained under the impression that she would never get married. On the other hand, everything changed when the two of them met.
“I always had this idea that I would never get married,” Mavis shared with us in the year 1987. “But with Jay, I began to realize that this was the first time I was ever with someone where I had a perfect, calm sense of having arrived at my destination.”

It was at the Comedy Store, a well-known comedy club in Los Angeles, that Mavis and her future husband first met. It was in the month of January, although I can’t recall the exact day. “But at that moment, I thought, ‘Holy s—!
