About the Service Recognition Program

5, 10, and 15 years

As part of the service recognition program, staff members with 5, 10, and 15 years of credited service at Cornell are honored by their departments with certificates of recognition, and receive an email message of congratulations on the day of their anniversary via the Appreciation Portal.

20 years

Staff celebrating 20 years of credited service are honored with certificates of recognition and also receive anniversary points through the onlineCornell Appreciation Portal.Rewards points may be used to purchase gift cards to be used at The Cornell Store and/or selectingfrom among hundreds of items supported by Amazon.com through the portal.Service Award points will not be available until you receive an email notice from the appreciation portal on your anniversary date.

25+ Club

Staff celebrating 25, 30, 35, and 40 years of credited service are honored with certificates of recognition and also receive anniversary points through theCornell Appreciation Portal.Service Award points will not be available until you receive an email notice from the appreciation portal on your anniversary date.

Service Recognition Event

  • TheService Recognition Eventis hosted by the Office of the President andheld annually to recognize staff who are celebrating 25, 30, 35, and 40 and above years of service. Milestone awardees and a guestare invited as well as deans, vice presidents and vice provosts, and human resource leaders.

Recognition Gifts

  • TheService Awards gift program is administered through the onlineCornellAppreciation Portal,supported by Awardco. Rewards points may be used to purchase from among thousands of items on Amazon.com or gift cards to be used at The Cornell Store. You can log into your account; however, yourService Award points will not available until you receive an email noticefrom Awardco on your anniversary date.Instructions will be supplied for how to spend these points to make the purchase of your choice.

Over 40 years

Staff who have reached over 40 years of credited service are invited to the Service Recognition Event every year. Staff celebrating 45, 50, and 55 years of credited service also receive a certificate of recognition andanniversary points through the Cornell Appreciation Portal.Service Award points will not be available until you receive an email notification from the appreciation portal on your anniversary date.

Eligibility

Non-academic staff are eligible for the Service Recognition Program based on Credited Service. Credited Service refers to the length of employment at the university. Please read theterms and conditions of Credited Service. Eligible recipients for each year's cohort is determined by a fiscal year calendar.
