I will never buy granola again. My family loves this recipe and so do I. It tastes great with yogurt, with milk or by itself. I have made different variations like making it with dried mango and coconut. But just amazing.

This granola is so easy and absolutely delicious! I read other reviews and baked it at 315 for a total of 30 mins. I used almond extract and dried cranberries in the first batch and vanilla extract and dried blueberries in the second batch. Not sure I'll ever buy granola again...

Just made this tonight and it tastes great! I used a different combination of nuts/seeds based on what was on hand, but kept the spices and sweetners (although I did only add 2 Tb of brown sugar). A winner in my book!

This is AMAZING granola- I have used fresh oj, and sometimes add a little coconut. I never have flax seed on hand but I'll have to try it next time. LOVE IT

This is a great recipe! For those of you who don't like the stickyness of this, I used 2-3 tbs maple syrup instead of the honey, which made it more crunchy and less sticky. I also cooked it at 315 degrees for 15 minutes, mixed it, and baked for another 15 minutes.

Delicious. My husband, who is not usually thrilled with granola, really enjoyed this and requests it again. I am a granola lover, and appreciate a recipe that is lower in fat. This is becoming a staple in our home. Thanks!

Best granola thus far! I substituted toasted pecans for the walnuts. Baked it almost twice as long until it was very crisp. I use my Silpat silicone baking mats and let it cool and set overnight. It slid off the mats in big chunks. Cleanup was very easy. Mom's going to love her Christmas present.

Very good, healthy granola. I substituted pecans for walnuts because that's what I had on hand. Also, I added come coconut, which made it almost too sweet. Next time I'll cut back on the sugar, and maybe add some wheat germ. Great recipe as is, though.

Thought this was a great healthy granola that tasted good as well. I used pecans in stead of walnuts and used dried cherries instead of cranberries. Next time I think I will substitute almond extract for the vanilla. Can't imagine ever buying granola again. Thanks

Amazing! Loved this granola, did not add the cranberries. Instead I just add fresh blueberries to my yogurt and granola. Yum!!!

This is delicious! I have stopped buying granola and will make it from now on. It's so much healthier and cheaper. It was a little soft, so next time I baked it at 315 for 15 minutes on each side, and it was perfect crispy-ness for us. We have been switching up the dried fruit and nuts in it. It was even good with dried apples and a little extra cinnamon. Yum!

YUM. Very good flavor. Mine did not get crisp by the time it was light brown...even after cooling. I put it back in a 200-degree oven for about 10 minutes, then turned the oven off and let it cool in the oven. Turned out crisp (but not so hard it breaks your fillings) and delicious. Will definitely make this again!

This was easy and delicious - I didn't have orange juice so I used no sugar added white grape juice. I cooked it a lot but kept checking it so it did not burn... will make again and add whole almonds.

Love this! I substituted pecans for walnuts, and light olive oil for canola. Baked to a deep golden color, and the resulting granola was crunchy. Will definitely make it again.

This is easy to make and makes the house smell great. It's got a lovely winter taste and with the cranberries adding a bit of red color will be pretty in little jars with ribbon for hostess gifts this holiday season.

This was an amazing granola recipe. I thought it was a bit too sweet (I tried some like I always do before baking) but it came out tasting WAY better! I took it out ever 7 minutes to stir it and it was perfect! Next time I think I will decrease the sugars somehow, but I will be making this again!

FAQs

How much granola is enough? ›

For a healthy snack, Sass recommends pairing 1/3 cup or less of granola with almond milk, or eating it with fresh berries alongside a protein such as grass-fed organic Greek yogurt or eggs.

Why is my homemade granola not crunchy? ›

I aim to let it hit room temperature, whatever that may be; the real point is to give it ample time to shed excess heat and steam. This should take about 45 minutes; if left out indefinitely, the granola can turn sticky or soft, so do try to put it away as soon after cooling as you can.

What ingredient makes granola clump together? ›

Clumpy Granola Method: Add Whole Wheat and Almond Flour

First, it adds a combo of whole wheat flour and almond flour (or almond meal), which act as a binder to hold the oat mixture together.

Can too much granola be bad? ›

Granola contains dried fruit, which is high in sugar, and high-fat tree nuts like almonds or walnuts. If too much is eaten, you could develop health problems or take in too many calories. Read the label before you buy and check the overall calories, total sugar, and fat content.
