Admittedly, I was quite disapointed when I first read this final installment of the first season. the quality wasn't like the others and it felt short lived.

Not I've received an ARC from the updated version, that will be available within the next days, which not only includes an epilogue but the Scene ZERO, which is narrated by no one else but the King himself.

Mistress isn't as naughty as the other books, but thinking about the fact that it is a conclusion that allows to to decide whether this story ends for you here this Episode still deserves four stars!

Mistress is currently only available as bonus story in the season bundle, and will be available for FREE soon, when it has been re-edited.

Originally, this book was planned to have an epilogue, describing the life of Dark Alley's Mistress after her decision, but it was cut from the manuscript as it was decided to give Dark Alley another season, with exactly that topic as main plot. I didn't have the time to add some more pages to give this a smoother end.
Personally, do not like stories to have a closed end, and prefer an ending that describes how the situation described in a book or series comes to an end and life goes on, leaving the latter to the imagination of the reader. I understand that not everyone likes this kind of ending, and I'm sorry that you are displeased with the ending of this season.
I do apologize about the errors in this book, which now have been fixed.

I read the latest edition of this book, which not only contains the conclusion of this season with a HFN - and I am a sucker for open endings that allow me to imagine the rest.

And then there is ZERO, which was formerly exclusive to Season Part One or the Entire Season bundle. Which is absolutely great! I love King of Diamonds ;)

That being said: Mistress isn't as scorching hot as the other parts, but given that it is a conclusion I feel like it was the right choice. Others might be disappointed because of that.
Then again, this series continues with Grantham Global.

I have been an avid fan of Dark Alley since the very beginning & even though Mistress was a lot tamer than the rest if the series I think it was the perfect ending to Season 1 and lead into Gantham Global (season 2).

I love all DS Wrights books & look forward to each and every release, can't wait to see where she will make season 2.

Unfortunate typos

Lots of typographical errors in this episode. Made for a difficult time keeping my head in the story. Still love the series though.

Wow! This book was fabulous. The story and lives of the characters have really melded and gelled together.
I wish there was more to read. I am going to go through withdrawals now until the next session!

Wow, what a tease

That was so short that I feel cheated. Yes she made her decision on what man she wanted but that was all that happened. What happens next???

I loved this entire series (minus book 3 which seemed to repeat book 2)... the series ended too abruptly with little to no real ending and way too many loose ends. it seems like a draft to me.. I was disappointed. its like the series/characters and author gave up (harsh I realize).

id recommend this entire series to so many people if only the last book could be re-written or taken out and replaced with something different....

if there is another "season" that's going to happen - id give it a last effort to read the book but only if it also didn't end this way again.

While I've enjoyed reading the Dark Alley series, I'm going to be honest and say that this installment was unfortunately a bit of a disappointment. It was the shortest in the series at only 37 pages and felt more like a chapter than a full novella. The whole book felt rushed and lacked most of the type of details that drew you into the first seven books. Given that this was supposed to be the conclusion of the first season, I expected more.

Save your money

The premise and first 3-4 parts of this series were intriguing, even though there was little character development. The plot advancement in the last 4 parts could easily have been condensed into one and you are left with the impression that the story was strung out just to make more money. This 8th part was the worst, and besides contributing nothing new to the story, was so poorly edited that I was grinding my teeth all the way through ( which since it was absurdly short fortunately didn't go on for too long). Get an editor! Anyway, save your money -- there are lots better erotica available out there.
